My resident introvert just sent me this informative and funny article, Caring for Your Introvert, by Johnathon Rauch, in the newest Atlantic. To read it click here.
My clients have been telling me to read The Introvert Advantage by Marti Olsen Laney.
Not all highly sensitive people are introverts, and not all introverts are highly sensitive, but there's a lot of overlap. If you or your beloved or your client wants to crawl under the bed after a lot of external stimulation, is on the anxious side, is creative, and wears feelings close to the surface, this book is for them: The Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron.
Robin,
That article is in the subscription section of The Atlantic. The link will expire in a couple of days. Also, it is actually from a 2003 issue, but it happens to be the second most popular article on the Atlantic site. We are a big, silent group that is demanding, rather quietly I must say, to be heard.

Would "RI" be for "resident introvert"?
